She appeared in several television series, including The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Donna Reed Show, and The Rifleman. In the late 1960s, Arner began directing television episodes. She directed episodes of The Waltons, The Partridge Family, and The Brady Bunch. She also directed episodes of the soap operas Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. In addition to her work in television, Arner has also directed several feature films. Her credits include The Great Bank Hoax (1978), The Great Bank Robbery (1979), and The Great Bank Robbery (1980). Arner has been married twice. She has two children from her first marriage. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
