Iolani Luahine was an American actress and dancer who was born on January 31, 1915 in Honaunau-Napoopoo, Hawaii, USA. She was best known for her roles in the films "The Hawaiians" (1970) and "Hawaii" (1966). Luahine began her career as a dancer, performing in various shows and films. She was a member of the Royal Hawaiian Band and the Royal Hawaiian Troupe. She also appeared in the television series "Hawaii Five-O" (1968-1980). Luahine was married to the late Hawaiian musician and composer, John Kameaaloha Almeida. She had two children, John Kameaaloha Almeida Jr. and Iolani Luahine Almeida. Luahine passed away on April 28, 2021 at the age of 106. She was an inspiration to many and will be remembered for her contributions to the Hawaiian culture.
